About the blog...

As Beth was reading, American Gods, by Neil Gaiman, the following passage, found on the sidebar, inspired her to begin writing her own I believe list.

I received this I believe list in a letter along with the original passage and immediately began drafting my own to share with Beth and other friends.

Now we invite you to join in the conversation and share your own I believe statements, and of course read others!

(To contribute email either Beth or I with your email address so we can add you to our author's list... or just send us your list and we'll post it for you!)

I believe in the fashion sense of children

Believing in optimism

I BELIEVE

That stories outlive their homelands

That the first heartbreak is the worst

In letting people know when they cross your mind

In the power of a good cry every now and then

In colored fingernails, toenails, accessories, and makeup - all at the same time

In not going to bed angry

In giving the benefit of the doubt

Believe it or not, contrary to basically 2/3 of what I've said and how I've acted, I believe in love.
"Fermina," he said, "I have waited for this opportunity for more than half a century, to repeat to you once again my vow of eternal fidelity and everlasting love." - Love in the Time of Cholera.
